Rock Paper Lizards
Still Life Paintings
Living between the mountains and the ocean, you often come across a special find or see something unusual – the glimpse of a lizard’s tail, a rainbow inside a shell, a rotting piece of fruit split by the fall, an open pod with golden seeds, a chalky piece of cuttlefish, a reflection in a puddle, pink light after a rainstorm. They are nature’s message to us, in small, apparently insignificant, ways, that life is precious and always unpredictable.
These special finds and observations from nature and the environment, together with ceramic pieces and objects acquired over time, form and flavour my still life compositions.
