Kirsten Reed Biography
I studied multidisciplinary arts at New York University. This was inspired by a curiosity encompassing many art forms. I began drawing and painting in early childhood, and visual arts still serve as the basis for all of my creative leanings, pursuits and projects, both solo and collaborative. These include fine arts, film and video, photography, performance, installation, and writing.
I have worked as a theatre set painter, gallery secretary in a non-profit art gallery, and an arts workshop assistant for various community centres.
As a young art student I scraped a living out of selling portraits of tourists in London. I have written two novels, The Ice Age (finalist in the Varuna Manuscript Development Awards, 2008), and Chevy Hawk, (long-listed in the Australian Vogel Literary Award, 2007).
