Carolyn Delzoppo

About the artist –
Carolyn Delzoppo is an artist and craftsperson based in northern New South Wales. After a 40 year career as an internationally acclaimed cloisonne enamel jeweller, she has been concentrating on drawing and printmaking, taking part in many local and regional exhibitions. She was appointed Artist in Residence at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in 2015 and held a solo exhibition there in 2016. In 2018/19 she exhibited her drawings in a solo exhibition at Tweed Regional Gallery.

Previously Carolyn exhibited her cloisonné enamel jewellery and framed miniatures here and internationally, including solo exhibitions in Germany, Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin. She has won major international awards for her work in Japan, the United States and Spain and is represented in major public and private collections in Australia and Europe.

Artist statement
My work is mostly observational pencil drawings of details from the natural environment referencing the interconnectivity of all things, seen and unseen. Nothing in nature exists in isolation but is part of a complex and intimate relationship with the whole.
